Languages at UGA

Latin

Latin is a foundational language for the study of languages, law, medicine, philosophy, religion, and politics and its reception to the modern era. At UGA, Latin is available as an area of emphasis within the Classics major. It’s also available as a minor, with electives available to students in other disciplines. At the graduate level, students can pursue an MA in Classics with areas of concentration in Latin or Greek & Latin.
