The Ethics Hub hosts programming that is open to the campus community and the public, our events bring together voices from science, law, media, business, the arts, medicine, and beyond demonstrating that ethical reflection is central to every field.

Through lectures, workshops, and collaborative forums, we create spaces for rigorous debate thoughtful dialogue, and practical engagement with the ethical challenges sharing our society.

Ethics Lab 

The ethics lab hosts informal collaboration sessions open to the public where faculty and graduate students engage in lively conversation and debate on challenging issues of ethics. These sessions play an important role in enhancing dialogue around ethics across campus and in the community.

Southern Workshop on the Ethics of Emerging Technologies (SWEET) 

The Southern Workshop on the Ethics of Emerging Technologies (SWEET) is a UGA-led collaboration across several institutions in the southeast, including the University of Florida and Georgia State University. SWEET brings together faculty to present and discuss topics related to the ethics of technology. Established in 2024, SWEET is quickly becoming the South's premier annual workshop for the ethics of emerging technologies.

Congratulations to the Ethics Club at UGA on their second-place finish at the 2025 University of Chicago Spring Ethics Bowl. UGA's team placed higher than several prominent schools, finishing with a record of 3-1 to overcome third place Harvard University (2-1-1).

Ethics Awareness Week 

Ethics Awareness Week is an annual observance designated by the University System of Georgia across all USG institutions as an important reminder of shared core values of integrity, excellence, accountability, and respect. UGA’s observance of the week is part of the institution’s ongoing effort to promote an ethical culture on campus and to raise awareness about ethics resources available at the university. The 2025 Ethics Awareness Week lecture examined the future of AI and work.
