Adam Goodie

As Associate Dean, Adam Goodie oversees faculty affairs functions in the college, and supports faculty leadership development. He is the liaison for the fine and performing arts, and for the social and behavioral sciences, including the departments/schools of Anthropology, Art, Communication Studies, Dance, Geography, Music, Psychology, Sociology, and Theater & Film Studies. He is also the liaison for centers, institutes, and programs associated with these divisions, and for the UGA-Griffin campus.

Dr. Goodie is a Professor of Psychology. He conducts research in the interdisciplinary domain of judgment and decision making, which is a convergence of social and cognitive psychology, and behavioral economics. Specific areas of investigation include cognitive distortions in gambling behavior and problem gambling; the role of perceived control in risky decision making; individual differences in decision making; and teamwork and leadership. He is the author of over 50 peer reviewed publications in outlets including Nature and the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making, and his research has been funded by the NIH, NSF, and other agencies. Dr. Goodie received his PhD in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, and has been a member of the UGA Psychology faculty since 1998.
