Russian State Ballet performs "The Nutcracker"

The Nutcracker is the perennial favorite of generations of children and “children at heart.” The treasured holiday adventure follows a little girl’s journey through a fantasy world of fairies, princes, toy soldiers, and an army of mice. Thrill to the same authentic Russian choreography that is performed in Moscow by the famous Bolshoi Ballet. Set to Tchaikovsky’s beloved music, including “Waltz of the Flowers," "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” and “Waltz of the Snowflakes,” the annual visit of the Russian State Ballet has become a tradition of the Athens holiday season.

This screening is part of the Georgia workshop on culture, power and history, an initiative featuring films and speakers on the Latin American Sustainable Agriculture. After the movie, there will be a question-and-answer session with the director.
