Ballroom Magic 2016

Jan. 21-23 at 8 p.m. and Jan. 23 at 2 p.m.

Ballroom Magic 2015, the annual showcase performance by the UGA Ballroom Performance Group, will celebrate its 25th anniversary this month. A crew of student dancers, along with some returning alumni, will perform a range of traditional dance styles such foxtrot, waltz, quickstep, Viennese waltz, cha cha, rumba and swing, but will also feature other styles such as salsa, Argentine tango and theatre arts.Tickets are now available through the Tate Box Office, UGA Performing Arts Center on campus and online at pac.uga.edu.

 

One Health Seminar

"Building a Better One Health Model for Africa: Nexus of Animal and Human Health," Dr. Linda L. Logan, a professor and director of International Programs at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science at Texas A&M University.

A reception will be held in the Coverdell Lobby immediately following the presentation.

Study Abroad Fair

Students can find out more about UGA faculty-led study abroad and exchange programs. UGA offers more than 100 programs each year, ranging from a couple of weeks to a full year abroad. Participants will be able to meet students who have studied abroad to get the inside scoop and to see how they fit their experiences abroad into their curriculum.

7th Annual Housing Fair

To feature prizes and giveaways, this event will connect students with on- and off-campus housing opportunities for the next academic year. Students can talk with local and campus-based professionals about housing and roommate options.

Hugh Hodgson Faculty Series: Michael Heald

Violin professor and international soloist Michael Heald will showcase his close attention to musical detail and expression during an evening at the Performing Arts Center. Heald will be joined by Timothy Lovelace, Professor of Collaborative Piano at the University of Minnesota. Repertoire will consist of music by Schubert, Brahms, Schumann, and Mendelssohn for violin and piano duo.

New Year's Eve Concert

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in a brand new way as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra comes to Hodgson Hall for this fun-filled concert. It’s a musical celebration in the spirit of the famous and ultra-popular Vienna Philharmonic’s New Year’s Eve Gala Concert that is broadcast worldwide to more than ninety countries. The ASO's ninety-minute program begins at 7:00 p.m. so you’ll be out early enough not to miss any of your other traditional activities. Ring in 2016 in style with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
