Gallery Discussion: Folk Pottery

Image removed.This event is preceded by a screening of “The Meaders Family: North Georgia Potters,” the 1978 Smithsonian documentary profiles Cheever and Lanier Meaders of Mossy Creek and captures the techniques of pottery making, an art tradition embedded in the natural resources and craft practices of the South.

Concert: UGA Hodgson Singers

The UGA Hodgson Singers, the UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music’s premier choral ensemble, will celebrate the completion of its first professional recording project with a concert.

Proceeds from the concert, titled “Grace Immaculate: Prayers and Love Songs from the Heart,” will benefit UGA choral activities.

$10; $5 for students

Class of 2016 Senior Send-Off

Vice President for Student Affairs Victor Wilson and Meredith Gurley Johnson, executive director of the UGA Alumni Association, will address the Class of 2016 and unveil the Senior Signature plaque.

Professional headshots will be offered during the event. This is an opportunity for students to update their LinkedIn profile photo as they begin applying for jobs.

Complimentary appetizers and beverages will be available.

2016 Spring Graduate Commencement

The Graduate ceremony will be held May 13 at 10 a.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. Doors open an hour and a half prior to the events. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Channel 15 of the University Cable System and Channel 181 of the Charter Cable System. It also will be streamed live here. Tickets are not needed for either ceremony. The speaker for the Graduate Commencement will be Maurice C. Daniels, dean of the University of Georgia School of Social Work.
