The Last Witch

Scotland, 1727. An eccentric widow’s refusal to deny charges of witchcraft sets her at odds with a new sheriff, threatening not only her life but that of her daughter. Performances run Sept. 22, 26-30 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 24 & Oct. 1 at 2:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building Cellar Theatre.$16, $12 for students

Fall Education Abroad Fair

The 33rd annual Education Abroad Fair will feature nearly 100 exhibitors showcasing programs led by UGA faculty or at UGA international residential centers, as well as programs run through international partner universities and other providers. Dedicated sessions allow students to get an overview of study abroad opportunities at UGA, and a dedicated group of students who have already studied abroad — known as education abroad peer advisers — will also be on hand to answer students’ questions.

Dedication: Center for Molecular Medicine

The University of Georgia announced the creation of its Center for Molecular Medicine in fall 2012 with Stephen Dalton, PhD, as its founding director. It broke ground on a new state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility in December 2015, and a move-in date is scheduled for August 2017. The building’s dedication will be held Sept. 20, 2017, to be followed by a two-day symposium to mark the Center’s opening.

Concert: Keyboard Music of “The Three Bs”

Three master concert artists perform keyboard works of the giants of Western music—Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms—on historic instruments. Kenneth Weiss, harpsichordist, plays Bach. Eric Zivian, one of America’s foremost fortepiano specialists, plays Beethoven. Jon Nakamatsu, 1997 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist, performs Brahms on the Steinway grand.

Lecture: Stephen Mihm

“A Nation of Counterfeiters: Capitalists, Con men, and the Making of the United States,” Stephen Mihm, UGA history professor. Mihm's talk is in conjunction with the exhibit "Gold-digging in Georgia: America’s First Gold Rush." Gold nuggets, historic maps, photographs, postcards and other artifacts help tell the story of Georgia’s antebellum gold rush – which preceded the frenzy in California by two decades – in an exhibit at the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
