Academic advisors help guide students at every point on their academic journey. The sustained depth and professionalism of the Franklin College Office of Student Academic Services has resulted in a near sweep of the 2024-2025 University of Georgia Outstanding Undergraduate Academic Advising Awards

Alexandria Brock, Tashia Caughran, and Greg Kline of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences Office of Student Academic Services received three of this year's four awards.

Brock, recipient of the 2024-2025 Outstanding Professional Advisor Award, advises Chemistry and Computer Science students.

Caughran, who was honored with the 2024-2025 Outstanding New Advisor Award, advises students in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Kline, who was named the 2024-2025 Outstanding Advising Administrator, coordinates upper-division advising and graduation certification in the Franklin College. He supervises a team of 14 academic advisors who advise over 2,500 students in 28 different majors across 14 academic departments. He also advises students in the Religion department each semester.

"Consistent excellence in academic advising undergirds the high achievement of our students and graduates," said Anna Stenport, Dean of the Franklin College. "I am so proud of our advising colleagues and these awards, which highlight tireless leadership and advocacy that joins our rigorous learning environment to the ambition of extraordinary students it attracts to UGA. Their accomplishment brings further distinction for the entire advising corps."
