The Georgia Writers Hall of Fame was established in 2000 as part of the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library to honor Georgia writers and in doing so, introduce the public to the Hargett's rich collection of materials from Georgia's literary and cultural history.
The annual ceremony, this year at the newly-christened Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Librairies, celebrates each year's annual inductees. This year's event is coming on up on Thursday, September 27 and features a discussion moderated by Franklin College associate dean and literary authority Hugh Ruppersburg:
